About Atlas Animal Health

Long before Atlas existed as a business, our Natural Horse Dewormer was already being used the way many good things in the horse world begin: practically, consistently, and because it worked.

It was developed by Bill Mullet Sr., who came from an Amish farming tradition — one grounded in practical knowledge, careful observation, and a deep familiarity with working animals. That background shaped how he approached horse care: simply, naturally, and with patience for what actually works. The formula wasn't created as a product. It began as a trusted part of his regular deworming routine — something used in the barn because he believed in it and kept seeing the results.

Over time, other horse owners started to notice. Friends tried it, liked what they saw, and told other people. Word spread from neighbor to neighbor and barn to barn. For more than 20 years, that trust grew the old-fashioned way: through repeat use, visible results, and word of mouth.

When Bill's son, Billy Mullet Jr., recognized what they had, the goal was not to reinvent it. It was to bring it to more horse owners without losing what made it valuable in the first place.

"My father never set out to sell anything. He just had something that worked, and people kept asking for it. When I decided to start selling it, it was because I knew how many other folks and their horses could benefit from it." — Billy Mullet Jr., Founder, Atlas Animal Health

That meant keeping the formula intact while doing the work to document it more formally — through fecal egg count testing, independent laboratory analysis, and veterinary review. Atlas Animal Health is also shaped by more than 30 years of equine nutrition expertise through Larry Rudibaugh, our Nutritional Consultant, whose background in developing, researching, and field-testing equine mineral programs adds important depth to the Atlas product line.

The Results Speak for Themselves

The Results Speak for Themselves

In independent fecal egg count testing conducted at Michigan State University's Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory using the McMaster method — considered one of the most accurate techniques available for parasite analysis — Atlas Natural Horse Dewormer reduced Strongyle egg counts by 88 to 100 percent across every horse tested.

Those results were reviewed and endorsed by Dr. Paul Clemens of Auburn Veterinary Hospital in Chagrin Falls, Ohio.

"The Strongyle numbers are greatly reduced. These test results confirm that the deworming was very successful."
— Dr. Paul Clemens, DVM, Auburn Veterinary Hospital, Chagrin Falls, OH

What started in one barn has grown into a brand with real national reach.

Atlas products are sold in all 50 states, supported by sales representatives across the country, and carried in hundreds of feed and tack stores nationwide. That kind of distribution does not happen by accident. It comes from years of repeat business, retailer trust, and horse owners continuing to come back for what works.

The formula hasn't changed. Because it didn't need to.

We believe animal care should be straightforward.

We believe animal care should be straightforward.

The best products are not always the most complicated. Often, they are the ones that fit easily into a real routine, use ingredients an owner can recognize, and prove their value over time.

We believe in clear labeling, practical use, and honest results. We believe in products that do what they are supposed to do without overpromising. And we believe the people caring for animals every day deserve options that are dependable, thoughtfully made, and worth the money.
